Krista & Brett's Spring Wedding at Azuridge Estate

Some weddings are beautiful because of the venue. Some are beautiful because of the details. And some are beautiful because of the people.

Krista and Brett's May wedding at Azuridge Estate had all three.

I was especially excited for this wedding because I hadn't been back to Azuridge since working on the show Retreat to You. The venue remains one of the most unique wedding locations near Calgary, blending luxury, mountain-lodge architecture, and beautiful natural surroundings into a setting that feels both elegant and relaxed.

The day began with preparations inside Azuridge's spacious guest suites. Krista spent the morning getting ready with her bridal party while Perfection Hair & Makeup put the finishing touches on a look that perfectly suited the day. Soft curls, elegant accessories, and a gorgeous gown from Durand Bridal came together beautifully.

Meanwhile, Brett prepared nearby, looking sharp in his suit from Moores while enjoying a few quiet moments before the ceremony.

One of my favourite things about photographing weddings at Azuridge is how effortlessly the property transitions between intimate indoor spaces and stunning outdoor locations. Everywhere you turn there seems to be another beautiful backdrop waiting to be used.

The ceremony took place outdoors beneath a lavender-draped arbor overlooking the grounds. With spring finally arriving in Alberta, guests were treated to sunshine, fresh air, and spectacular views.

But what made the ceremony truly unforgettable was who stood at the front.

Rather than hiring a traditional officiant, Krista and Brett were married by her son.

There wasn't a dry eye in sight as he guided them through their vows. It was one of those rare moments that perfectly captures what weddings are really about—not just two people getting married, but families coming together and celebrating the people who matter most.

Following the ceremony, guests erupted into applause as the newlyweds shared their first kiss as husband and wife. The joy and excitement from family and friends was impossible to miss.

Afterward, we explored some of Azuridge's iconic locations for portraits. The estate's striking architecture, stonework, and famous tower created an incredible backdrop for photographs, while the soft spring light gave everything a warm and timeless feel.

One of my favourite images from the day was captured near the tower, where Krista and Brett shared a quiet moment together away from the celebration. Despite the size and beauty of the venue, moments like these always remind me that weddings are ultimately about connection.

The celebration continued with an incredible meal prepared by the Azuridge culinary team, followed by an evening of laughter, dancing, and heartfelt speeches. Revolution Entertainment kept the energy high throughout the reception while family and friends celebrated a couple who are clearly loved by everyone around them.
